Laurence P. Birch, Chairman of the Board

Mr. Birch joined DATATRAK’s Board of Directors in 2007. He expanded his leadership role in the company by assuming the role of Chairman in May of 2008 and ultimately became DATATRAK’s Interim President and CEO in January of 2009. In addition, Mr. Birch serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of NeoPharm, Inc., a biopharmaceutical company. Prior to joining NeoPharm, Mr. Birch served as CEO and President of AKSYS, Ltd., a hemodialysis developer and manufacturer from 2005 to 2006. Prior to that, Mr. Birch served as co-founder and managing director of Stratego Partners, a cost management consulting firm, from 2003 to 2005, Sr. Vice President-Business Development and CFO of Technology Solutions, Inc., a systems integration and consulting company, during 2002, CFO of Brigade, Inc., an internet support company, from 1999 to 2000, and five years with MCI Systemhouse where he held a variety of senior finance and general management positions. Mr. Birch began his career with Baxter Healthcare, a manufacturer and supplier of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, where, over the course of 13 years, he held a variety of positions. Mr. Birch holds a Bachelor of Science-Finance from the University of Illinois and a MBA from Northwestern University-Kellogg Graduate Business of Management. Mr. Birch is also a Certified Public Accountant.

Timothy G. Biro

Timothy G. Biro is Managing Partner of Ohio Innovation Fund and has been a director of DATATRAK since 1992. The Ohio Innovation Fund invests primarily in early-stage technology based companies including biotechnology and medical devices, information technologies, and advanced materials. Prior to his career in venture capital, Mr. Biro was with Merck & Co., holding management positions in Operations Management. He most recently served as superintendent of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. Prior to Merck, Mr. Biro worked in cancer research at Hershey Medical Center and in business planning in the Chemical Products Group of FMC Corporation. Mr. Biro also serves on the Board of Directors for several private company boards including SpineMatrix, which has developed a non-invasive device for assisting the Physician with the diagnosis and monitoring of lower back injury. Mr. Biro has also served as CEO for several early-stage companies including MORK Process, Therox Pharmaceuticals, and OncoImmune. Mr. Biro holds a BS in Microbiology from Pennsylvania State University, a BS in Pharmacy from Temple University, and a MBA in Finance and Marketing from the Wharton School of Business.

Seth B. Harris

Mr. Harris has served as a director of DATATRAK since 1992, and has been Chairman of Brand Development Ventures Inc., a consulting company that offers a wide range of services in new product development and marketing, since 2002. Mr. Harris founded Harris Wholesale Inc., a multi-state distributor of pharmaceutical products. He served as President & Chief Executive Officer until it was sold in 1994.

Jerome H. Kaiser, Ph.D.

Jerome H. Kaiser, Ph.D., has served as a director of DATATRAK since December 1999. Dr. Kaiser, a consultant, served as the Senior Vice President and CIO for Tower Group, Inc., an insurance company, from 2006 until 2008, and prior to his appointment to that position, was Head of Information Systems for Rothschild Inc., a private investment bank from 1999 to 2006. From 1992 to 1999, Dr. Kaiser held various positions within the pharmaceutical industry. During 1998 and 1999, he was the Director of Portfolio Management for Pfizer, Inc. From 1994 to 1998, Dr. Kaiser was employed by Hoffman-LaRoche, Inc., first as Senior Projects Specialist and then as Director of Information Management for Global Development. Dr. Kaiser worked in Project Management for Boots Pharmaceuticals from 1992 to 1994. From 1986 to 1992, he served in the positions of Assistant Professor and Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Kaiser is a graduate of the University of East Anglia, Norwich, England (B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics).

Robert M. Stote, M.D., F.A.C.P.

Robert M. Stote, M.D., F.A.C.P., has served as a director of DATATRAK since its inception and previously at its predecessor company, Collaborative Clinical Research. Dr. Stote was employed by SmithKline Beacham as Vice. Pres. Of Clinical Pharmacology from 1972-1989 and as Worldwide Medical Director, Medical Affairs from 1989-1992. He was employed as Sr. Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Bentley Pharmaceuticals from 1992 to 2008 and has been a full time consultant to CPEX Pharmaceuticals since July 2008. He also serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of NuPathe, Inc. Dr. Stote is both a pharmacist and physician receiving his medical degree from Albany Medical College. He spent 4 years in fellowship at the Mayo Clinic and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
